Iraq: Turkish aircrafts kill 7 members of Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK)

Turkey has intensified attacks against the fighters of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), an opposition group to Tehran, killing seven of its fighters in two separate attacks in recent days, the group said in a statement.

“In the past days… Turkey targeted twice from the air the villages in Mawat town in Sharbazher region using drones and warplanes,” the statement reads. The first attack occurred on Tuesday, with no casualties, says the statement

Philippines: 6 killed in clashes between security forces and New People’s Army (NPA) rebels

The death toll in the running gun battle between government security forces and suspected communist rebels in northern Philippines on Saturday climbed to six, the military said on Sunday.

A military report said that the clashes that started around 2:00 p.m. local time on Saturday and ended early Sunday morning in Santa Lucia town near Candon City in Ilocos Sur province resulted in the killing of five New People’s Army (NPA) rebels and an army soldier.

Somalia: Al-Shabaab claims car bomb at a military base in Mogadishu

At least seven people were killed when a car bomb exploded at an army base in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday, military and emergency services said.

The attack, claimed by the al-Shabaab militant group, targeted a compound near Somalia’s national stadium where soldiers from the Somali National Army (SNA) are stationed.

Nigeria: Fulani militia armed attack kills more than 20 people in north

More than 20 people were killed and several others wounded in fresh armed attacks by a suspected militia targeting three Nigerian communities in the northern Kaduna State, local media reported on Thursday.

The attack which took place in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area targeted the communities of Kurmin Masara, Apyia Shyim, and Takmawai, according to local Daily Post website.

Afghanistan: Clashes between Afghan forces and Taliban resume after cease-fire ends

At least 10 insurgents were killed in clashes between Afghan forces and the Taliban in eastern Afghanistan, officials said Thursday, the first time authorities have confirmed direct fighting since a recent cease-fire expired.

According to defense ministry spokesman Fawad Aman, two clashes broke out Wednesday in the eastern province of Ghazni. Aman told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that 10 Taliban insurgents had been killed.
