At least two al-Shabaab militants were on Saturday night killed in Jalalaqsi, following an attack that targeted a police station, officials said, in the increasing wave of violence instigated by the militants, who have been wreaking havoc in the Horn of Africa nation.
Officials said the militants, in dozens, attacked a police station within the town in Somalia, leading to a fierce gunfight with the Somali Police who were manning the town, that lasted for several hours leading to casualties as several others sustained injuries.

At least seven dead bodies were recovered from debris after what Baku described as shelling of Ganja conducted by the Armenian forces, one day after a ceasefire between the two sides had been due to take effect, Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry said on Sunday.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to a cease-fire in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region beginning at noon Saturday.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made the announcement in Moscow in the early hours Saturday after mediating 10 hours of talks between the two sides.

More than 50,000 people have fled intensified fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s North Kivu province, the UN said Friday.
In a statement, the UN refugee agency UNHCR said those displaced include an overwhelming number of children – including many unaccompanied by either a parent or a guardian.

Yemeni troops and allied tribesmen have stormed and captured the strategic Al-Khanjer military base and surrounding areas in the northern province of Jouf.
The operation, supported by Saudi-led Arab coalition warplanes, is a heavy blow to Iran-backed Houthi militias and their control of much of northern Yemen, the army said.
