Afghanistan: Scores of militants killed by security forces in Ghazni and Kandahar
Nearly 60 Taliban insurgents have been killed in clashes with the security forces in Ghazni and Kandahar provinces, officials said in Friday.
Wahidullah Jumazada, spokesman for the Ghazni governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed a security check-post around midnight in Qarabagh district.
The rebels faced strong resistance from the Afghan Air Force (AAF). In the ensuing airstrike, 30 attackers were killed and 10 others wounded, the officials said.
He added the bodies of several fighters were still lying at the battle scene. The security forces also seized arms and ammunition from the insurgents.
