Fighting between Ethiopian government troops and forces loyal to the rebel northern state of Tigray is continuing despite the fall of the regional capital, Mekelle, the dissidents’ top leader said.
Clashes are ongoing in two locations near Mekelle and two others 38 miles north of the city, Debretsion Gebremichael, the leader of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front, which previously controlled the state, said in a text message Friday.

Eleven YPG/PKK terrorists were neutralized by Turkish security forces in the Operation Olive Branch zone, south of Turkey’s border, the Defense Ministry said Friday.
The terrorists, found by UAVs, were neutralized by commando teams in clashes continuing since Thursday, when six terrorists were previously neutralized, bringing the total to 17, said a ministry statement.

Azerbaijan has said that 2,783 of its soldiers were killed during its conflict with ethnic Armenian forces over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, and that more than 100 of its troops were still missing.
Azerbaijan had until Thursday not disclosed any of its military losses in the conflict that erupted on September 27 and came to a halt on November 10 when a Russian-brokered peace deal ushered in a ceasefire.

A clash between al-Shabaab militants, and Somali soldiers backed by civilians left dozens dead this week, the Ministry of Information said Tuesday.
The ministry told Voice of America that militants attacked a military base in the central town of Ba’adweyene on Monday morning, killing four soldiers and 11 civilians who took part in the battle.

Yemen’s Houthi fighters have claimed the killing of at least eight Saudi soldiers.
Yahya Saree, a military spokesman for the Iran-aligned group, said late on Sunday that fighters attacked the Tadawin camp in the Marib governorate, where Saudi forces are stationed with a ballistic missile.
