India and China have agreed to pull back troops from a bitterly contested lake area high in the western Himalayas, India’s defense minister said on Thursday, in a breakthrough after a monthslong standoff on the disputed border.
Rajnath Singh told parliament the accord over Pangong Tso, a glacial lake at 14,000 feet, had been reached after several rounds of talks between military commanders and diplomats from the nuclear-armed neighbors.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Wednesday targeted Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia, causing a civilian plane on the tarmac to catch fire, the kingdom’s state television reported, an attack that threatens to escalate Yemen’s grinding war.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control, Saudi state-owned Al-Ekhbariya TV said, without offering word on possible casualties from the assault. Saudi officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The assault took place in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor. The military was stationed in the area looking for jihadist militiamen. Yesterday the Syrian authorities announced the discovery of the body of the director of Palmyra, who was beheaded in 2015. DNA tests will be carried out to confirm his identity.
A convoy of government army soldiers stationed in the eastern sector of the country, near the border with Iraq, was attacked by militias of the Islamic State (IS, formerly Isis).

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu (SPLM-Nal-Hilu) extended for five-month the unilateral cessation of hostilities.
”As a gesture of goodwill towards a peaceful resolution of the Sudanese conflict, and in order to give the peace an opportunity for success, I, Commander Abdalaziz Adam Alhilu, Chairman & C-in-C SPLM/A-N hereby, declare the extension of the unilateral Cessation of Hostilities (COH) for five (5) months in all areas under the control of the SPLM/A-N,” reads a statement extended to Sudan Tribune on Sunday.

At least four Saudi officers were killed and several others were injured in a rocket attack on ‘Al-Tadavin’ military base in Ma’rib province in the Northern parts of Yemen.
Local sources in Ma’rib province today reported that at least two rockets had hit ‘Al-Tadavin’ military base where the Saudi army forces are stationed.
