The Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai bombarded a mass gathering of Boko Haram members in Dawuri village at the weekend.
The attack, which followed intelligence gathering, happened within the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, with no fewer than 40 insurgents planning to execute a coordinated storm in Maiduguri and its environs killed.

The Iran-backed Houthi military offensive on Yemen’s central city of Marib has tapered off as the rebels have suffered heavy casualties, defections and stiff resistance from Yemen’s army and allied tribesmen, three military sources told Arab News.
Houthis have been mounting a major offensive on the city of Marib since February in a bid to seize control of the government’s last bastion in the northern half of the country, which contains rich oil reserves, gas fields and big electricity stations.

Israeli warplanes launched a fresh round of massive airstrikes in Gaza on Monday as the most serious conflict in years entered a second week and international calls for a ceasefire mounted.
Dozens of Israeli jets bombed more than nine miles of Hamas’ tunnel system in Gaza overnight and targeted nine residences Monday that the Israeli military said belonged to commanders from the Palestinian militant group.

Fighting between the Taliban and Afghan government forces has resumed in the restive southern province of Helmand, officials said, ending a three-day ceasefire agreed by the warring sides to mark the Eid al Fitr holiday.
Violence has soared as the United States military presses ahead with a plan to withdraw all of its troops by September, bringing an end to a 20-year military operation in Afghanistan.

Local resistance fighters in the southern Chin State town of Kanpetlet say they injured two members of the junta’s armed forces in a pair of attacks on Thursday night.
The Chinland Defence Force (CDF) said it clashed twice with soldiers late Thursday night—once outside a branch of the state-owned Myanma Economic Bank at around 9pm, and again at a police outpost at around midnight.
