Five Chinese military planes were tracked in Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Sunday (May 29), marking the 20th day of intrusions this month.
Four People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets and one Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare plane flew into the southwest corner of Taiwan’s ADIZ, according to the Ministry of National Defense (MND).

The government said the kidnapped soldiers are being held by the “Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda” in the eastern territory of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
On Saturday, the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) called for the release of two Rwandan soldiers being held by FDLR rebels in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Russia’s defence ministry said on Saturday that the eastern Ukrainian town of Lyman had fallen under the full control of Russian and Russian-backed forces in the region.
Pro-Russian separatists from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic had said on Friday that they had fully captured the town, a railway hub west of Sievierodonetsk.

Five Turkish soldiers were killed Tuesday in clashes with Kurdish militants in northern Iraq, Turkey’s defense ministry said. Two other soldiers were wounded in the fighting.
The clashes took place during Turkey’s latest cross-border offensive against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, which maintains bases in northern Iraq. Turkey launched its latest offensive, named Operation Claw Lock last month in northern Iraq’s Metina, Zap and Avashin-Basyan regions.

Several civilians are reportedly fleeing into Uganda following clashes between the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) and March 23 Movement (M23) rebels.
Intelligence sources told SoftPower News on Sunday that heavy fighting between government forces and the rebel group had been ongoing since Saturday.
