Clashes among Syrian rebel groups backed by Turkey ended on Sunday after they agreed to a truce, residents and rebel sources said, easing fears of wider internecine warfare among opponents of President Bashar al Assad’s rule.
Rebel negotiators told Reuters that Turkey, which maintains thousands of troops inside northwest Syria, mediated a deal among Failaq al Sham, Levant Front, Jaish al Islam and Ahrar al Sham.

Six rebels belonging to the banned outfit Balochistan Liberation Front were killed in a clash with security forces in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province on Sunday, a military statement said.
The security forces launched an operation after receiving a tip-off regarding the presence of the rebels in a mountainous range of the province, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.

“A short while ago, in response to the rocket attack, (Israeli military) aircraft struck a number of Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip,” the army said in a statement.
The strikes came after Hamas “launched a rocket… toward Israeli civilians in southern Israel”, it said, adding the projectile was intercepted by Israel’s air defences.

At least 50 people have died in an attack by armed men on a village in northern Burkina Faso, a government spokesman said.
The attackers struck overnight between Saturday and Sunday in Seytenga commune, part of Seno province, which lies in borderlands where fighters linked to al-Qaeda and ISIL (ISIS) are embroiled in an armed uprising.
