Pakistan’s airstrikes on eastern Afghanistan killed 46 people, mostly women and children, a Taliban government official said Wednesday.
Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesman for the Taliban, said that six people were also wounded in the Paktika province bordering Pakistan.

Somalia accused Ethiopian forces of a deadly attack on its troops in a border region on Monday, just days after the two countries signed an accord aimed at resolving months of tension.
The Somali foreign ministry said in a statement that Ethiopian troops had attacked its forces stationed at an airstrip in the border town of Doolow in Somalia’s Jubaland state around 10:00 am.

Troops of Sector 1 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have repelled a coordinated attack by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on a military base in Darak, Cameroon, neutralizing 10 terrorists.
Lt.-Col. Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer, MNJTF Headquarters, N’Djamena, Chad, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

The commander of Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk group of forces has been replaced following Russian advances in the region, a military official said Saturday.
General Oleksandr Tarnavskiy would take over as head of the operational and tactical group, replacing General Oleksandr Lutsenko, the official told CNN.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has resigned and fled the country, according to the Russian foreign ministry, after a stunning offensive by rebels who seized the capital city of Damascus on Sunday.
Amid scenes of jubilation in the streets, the rebels proclaimed that “the city of Damascus is free from the tyrant Bashar al-Assad” and that “Assad has fled” after various factions encircled the capital from the north and the south.
