The Burkina Faso army said on Sunday it had killed 32 “terrorists” in two operations in the north of the country, days after dozens of people were killed in an ambush on a convoy transporting employees of a Canadian mining company.
The army said 24 people were killed in the first operation on Friday and a further eight in a second on Saturday.

ISIS Libya pledged Friday allegiance to the new leader of the terrorist group Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashemi Al-Qurashi after the killing of the ringleader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.
ISIS media outlets posted photos of about 32 militants in different areas in what they called “Wilayat Barqa” - Cyrenaica Region - saying it took place this month.

Congolese forces killed the leader of an offshoot of a Hutu militia in the restive east of the country, the army said, two months after killing the leader of the main faction.
Juvenal Musabimana led a splinter group of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), founded by Hutu officials who fled Rwanda after orchestrating the 1994 genocide.

Thirty-seven civilians were killed and more than 60 wounded when gunmen ambushed a convoy transporting workers of Canadian gold miner Semafo in eastern Burkina Faso, regional authorities said on Wednesday.
The attack is the deadliest in recent years as the military struggles to contain Islamist violence that has overrun parts of Burkina Faso, in west Africa. Semafo tightened security last year following armed incidents near two of its mines in the country.

The spokesperson for the Houthi army has said that over 4,000 Sudanese forces fighting with the Saudi-UAE coalition in Yemen have been killed since 2015.
The Houthis have also accused the coalition of pushing Sudanese troops to the front lines and not prioritising captured Sudanese soldiers whenever prisoner swaps have been arranged.
