Burma-Myanmar: Army attacks Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/A) in Muse district

Tatmadaw troops clashed with Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/A) in Muse District, located in northern Shan State, this Thursday (September 24).

Locals told KNG that Burma Army soldiers from LID-88 attacked KIO/A Battalion-36, located on Howa Bum hill, with artillery for hours.

Pakistan: Pakistan says 2 soldiers killed in clash with India

Pakistan on Wednesday said two of its soldiers were killed in a clash with India along the de facto border in the disputed Kashmir region.

The army, in a statement, said an “unprovoked” attack from India claimed the lives of two of its troops.

Philippines: Army says a New People’s Army (NPA) guerrilla dead in clash in Zambo Sur town

A communist guerrilla suspect was killed in a clash between government soldiers and New People’s Army (NPA) in the town of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur province on Monday (Sept. 21).

Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, commander of the 53rd Infantry Battalion, said a platoon under his unit clashed with armed men believed to be from the main regional guerrilla unit of NPA’s Western Mindanao Party Committee.

Afghanistan: 23 soldiers and 31 militants killed in clashes in two Afghan provinces

At least 23 Afghan soldiers and 31 militants were killed and several fighters wounded in separate clashes in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar and western Badghis provinces during Wednesday night, as peace efforts being made, provincial officials confirmed on Thursday.

In Nangarhar province, 20 soldiers and 29 militants were killed and 15 security forces and 20 militants were wounded when security forces repelled militants’ attacks in Khogiani, Shirzad and Hesarak districts, provincial government spokesman Attaullah Khogiani told Xinhua.

Philippines: 9 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered

At least nine alleged New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered in different parts of Southern Tagalog, while a still unidentified “amazona” (female rebel) was killed in a clash with government forces Monday.

Army Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Cana, public information officer of the military’s Southern Luzon Command based in Camp Nakar, said in a press statement that five of the former rebels turned themselves in Kalayaan, Laguna, and General Nakar, Quezon.
