As many as 24 Taliban terrorists have been killed in clashes with Afghan security forces in the east and south of the country, the Defence Ministry said on Saturday.

More than 700 villagers in Kyaukme Township in northern Shan State fled their homes late last month due to fighting between government troops and the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS). The ethnic armed group allegedly burned a cache of illegal drugs to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26.
The villagers claimed Myanmar’s military shot and killed a man and injured two others. However, the army said it was unaware of any civilian casualties.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Tuesday confirmed that Chinese and Indian military commanders held a second meeting on June 22, the first after the Galwan Valley region incident on June 15.
The meeting shows that China and India are willing to resolve differences, handle the situation and de-escalate tension through dialogue and consultation, Zhao said at a press briefing.

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) warned civilians in northern Shan State’s Kutkai this week that clashes could erupt anytime in the area between the ethnic armed group and the Myanmar military, or Tatmadaw.
Since June 1, the Myanmar military and the KIA have clashed violently in Kutkai five times. The township has also seen clashes between the Myanmar military and a KIA ally, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).

The Kim Jong Un regime is threatening to send troops into the demilitarized zone that separates North Korea and South Korea after demolishing the building that served as a diplomatic mission between the rivals. Over the past week, Pyongyang has vented fury about North Korean defectors living in the South who have been flying anti-government leaflets back over the border.
The de-facto embassy building was officially known as the Inter-Korean Liaison Office. It was only established in 2018, standing just north of the heavily-militarized border in the city of Kaesong.
