Some 37 Myanmar junta soldiers were killed on Saturday in clashes with the Rakhine ethnic armed organization the Arakan Army (AA), according to the AA’s information department.
The AA and military regime troops clashed in three locations in western Myanmar’s Rakhine State on Saturday, as well as in one location in neighboring Chin State’s Paletwa Township.

Taiwan’s foreign minister accused China on Tuesday of using U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taipei as a pretext for launching large-scale military drills in preparation for an eventual invasion.
Speaking to reporters, Foreign Minister Joseph Wu called Beijing’s military exercises in response to Pelosi’s trip a “serious provocation” and an attempt to overturn the status quo in the sensitive Taiwan Strait.

Clashes between Taliban forces and Iran border guards on Sunday have left at least one dead on the Afghanistan side, an Afghan police official said.
“We have one killed and one wounded; the cause of the clash is not clear yet,” the police spokesman of the southern Afghan province of Nimroze, Bahram Haqmal, told Reuters.

Myanmar’s resistance forces have vowed to eradicate the junta and bring justice for the execution of four anti-regime activists.
The junta hanged former lawmaker of the National League for Democracy (NLD) Ko Phyo Zeya Thaw, veteran democracy activist Ko Jimmy and two other men, Ko Aung Thura Zaw and Ko Hla Myo Aung both from Hlaing Tharyar Township in Yangon, during the weekend without notifying their families. It was the first time in four decades that political dissidents have been executed in Myanmar.

The Philippine Army will deploy more troops to some towns in Northern Samar following the recent detonation of anti-personnel land mines by the communist terrorist group that wounded seven soldiers in Mapanas town.
Capt. Ryan Layug, Philippine Army’s 8th Infantry Division spokesperson, said additional troops will be assigned in the Pacific towns of the province with some villages still threatened by the presence of the New People’s Army (NPA).
