Fighters of the Iraq’s al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement in the form of the 12th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a surprise attack on a terrorist hideout in northern Baghdad, killing the governor and the Grand Mufti of Daesh and destroying the remnants of this terrorist group.
According to the Communication and Media Affairs Centre of al-Nujaba in Iran, Iraqi fighters attacked a Daesh hideout in the al-Tarmiyah area of northern Baghdad in a surprise operation on February 21, killing the governor and Grand Mufti of Daesh in the area and arrested some key members of this terrorist group.

Four rockets hit the Al-Balad airbase north of the Iraqi capital on Saturday, the military said, as security sources told AFP a local contractor for a US company managing Iraq’s F-16s had been wounded.
The attack came hours after Iraqi security forces raided an Islamic State (IS) hideout in the plains of Tarmiyah, with clashes leaving five jihadists and two pro-government fighters dead, according to the Iraqi military.

Syria’s army said on Monday the country’s air defenses intercepted an “Israeli aggression” over the capital, Damascus, in the latest stepped-up bombing of Iranian targets inside the country.
State media did not give details of what was hit by the Israeli air force in the latest strikes by Israel against Iranian-backed military targets inside the country in the past two months.

Three Turkish soldiers were killed in a new Turkish military offensive against a Kurdish militants in northern Iraq, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said Thursday.
Two of soldiers were killed Wednesday in a clash that erupted in northern Iraq’s Gara region on the first day of the latest Turkish operation, the ministry said. Another soldier died of his wounds on Thursday.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Wednesday targeted Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia, causing a civilian plane on the tarmac to catch fire, the kingdom’s state television reported, an attack that threatens to escalate Yemen’s grinding war.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control, Saudi state-owned Al-Ekhbariya TV said, without offering word on possible casualties from the assault. Saudi officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
