At least 21 Myanmar junta forces including pro-regime militia members were killed in the last three days as People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) stepped up their attacks on regime targets across the country.
In one case, PDF battalions of Myanmar’s civilian National Unity Government (NUG) shelled the bases of three military battalions in northern Shan State.

Russia has recorded nearly 143,000 casualties since the start of the war in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian army.
The latest update from the Kiev Defense Ministry reported on Twitter says that the number of victims of the Russian side has reached 142,860, up by 590 compared to yesterday.

Rwanda’s army has said its troops briefly exchanged fire with soldiers from the Democratic Republic of the Congo at a border post, as tension continues to spike between the neighbours.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kigali said that 12 to 14 Congolese soldiers entered the neutral zone near the western district of Rusizi and opened fire at a Rwandan border post, in “an act of provocation”.

Colombia’s government and the National Liberation Army (ELN) rebel group resumed peace talks in Mexico City on Monday after a temporary halt caused by a misunderstanding over a mooted ceasefire.
Mexico is one of the guarantor nations for the talks, along with Norway, Venezuela, Cuba, Brazil and Chile. The first round of discussions to end the guerrillas’ part in nearly six decades of war took place in Caracas last November.

At least 24 people have been killed and 53 wounded amid heavy fighting in the Somali city of Las Anod, after local clan elders declared their intention to cut ties with the breakaway republic of Somaliland and rejoin Somalia.
In a second day of violence, local elders said on Tuesday that electricity and water in the city had been cut off, and a health centre had been attacked with mortars.
