At least 10 pro-Yemeni government forces and several Houthi rebels were killed in renewed fighting in Yemen’s central province of Marib, in latest escalation despite renewed talks of peace efforts.
According to military sources who spoke to AFP, rebel fighters launched an attack on hills overlooking the Harib district in the south of Marib, which is controlled the government forces. Dozens of families in the area fled the clashes. Last month, at least four government forces were killed in the same district.

An Israeli airstrike early Wednesday targeted the international airport in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, causing material damage and putting it out of service, Syria’s state news agency reported. It was the second attack on the facility this month.
Sana quoted an unnamed military official as saying Israeli warplanes fired the missiles toward Aleppo, Syria’s largest city and once commercial center, while flying over the Mediterranean Sea. It did not mention any casualties.

At least 30 more people have been killed this weekend amid intensified clashes between the Somaliland army and the SSC-Khatumo forces near Las Anod, a renowned elder has reported, with the death toll now nearing 300, with no action to restore peace going through as of now.
Garaad Abdisalan Hassan said 60 more people were also critically injured on Saturday during the clashes which have now entered the eighth week. Those injured, he said, will be taken to Mogadishu and Garowe for advanced treatment, shunning the possibility of having them treated in Hargeisa.

M23 rebels in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo have withdrawn from several villages ahead of military deployments by a regional force, officials in the troubled region said Thursday.
The Tutsi-led rebel group had advanced closer to Goma, threatening to cut off road links to the city of over 1 million people on the border with Rwanda.

Fighting is raging again in Kayah (Karenni) State after around 2,000 junta troops launched a large-scale offensive in late February a few weeks after Myanmar military regime declared martial law in Bawlake, Hpruso, Demoso and Shadaw townships.
Junta troops came through Shan State’s Pinlaung, which borders the regime’s seat of power in Naypyitaw to the west. Fighting has flared in Pekon, just southeast of Pinlaung.
