Serbia: Serbia says army on alert as tensions escalate with Kosovo

Serbia’s defense minister on Tuesday said the country’s armed forces are on alert as tensions escalate with neighboring Kosovo over the issue of car license plates.

Milos Vucevic told local Happy TV the military will do whatever is necessary to protect Serbian citizens, including those in Kosovo.

Saudi Arabia: Iran is planning imminent attacks Saudi Arabia and Iraq, the Wall Street Journal says

Saudi Arabia recently warned the US of an imminent attack by Iran on targets in the kingdom and in Erbil, Iraq, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

The US military and other militaries in the Middle East have raised their alert level in response to the warnings, according to the report.

Somalia: 2 car bomb explosions near education ministry kill 100 people

As many as 100 people were killed and more than 300 others were wounded in Somalia on Saturday after two car bombs exploded near the education ministry in the capital Mogadishu.

The two car bombs exploded near a busy intersection in the capital and near the Ministry of Education, according to an official with the president’s office, reported CNN.

Russia: Russia says repelled Ukraine drone attack on its Crimea fleet

The Russian army accused Ukraine Saturday of a “massive” drone attack on its Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, while Britain bluntly rejected Moscow’s claims its specialists were involved.

Sevastopol in Moscow-annexed Crimea, which has been targeted several times in recent months, serves as the headquarters for the fleet and a logistical hub for operations in Ukraine.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: Renewed clashes between army and M23 rebels enter fourth day

Fighting resumed for the fourth day between soldiers of the Democratic Republic of Congo national army, FARDC, and rebels of the March 23 (M23) movement in Ntamugenga in Bweza tribal group of Rutshuru territory in North Kivu.

According to the spokesperson of the Sokola 2 operational sector in North Kivu, Lt.-Colonel Njike Kaiko Guillaume, the national army is “responding efficiently to all provocations”.
