Ethiopia’s government said its prime minister, Abiy Ahmed, has arrived on the front lines to take charge of troops amid the ongoing conflict with Tigray fighters, The Associated Press reported.
A government spokesperson confirmed to the newswire that Abiy arrived at the battlefront on Tuesday, while his own spokesperson, Billene Seyoum, denied a request for details on his current location.

Armed rebels have killed at least 12 people during an attack on displaced civilians in the northeastern Ituri province of Democratic Republic of Congo, a military spokesperson said.
Fighters from the Cooperative for the Development of the Congo (CODECO) group raided the village of Drodro on Sunday night, killing six children, four men and two women, Jules Ngongo, a spokesperson for Ituri’s military government, told the Reuters news agency.

Uganda is in talks with neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo on plans to defeat Islamic rebels after four terrorist attacks in the past month.
Uganda’s security forces have gathered information about the Allied Democratic Forces after killing 12 of its operatives and arresting 106 since June, when they attempted to assassinate a minister, President Yoweri Museveni he said in a televised address in the capital, Kampala.

Azerbaijan has said seven of its soldiers were killed and 10 others wounded in the November 16 fighting, for which the sides blamed each other.
In a statement on November 19, the Armenian Defense Ministry gave the names of five servicemen who died in the clashes, including one officer. It said the identity of another dead soldier had yet to be established.

An alliance formed by nine Ethiopian rebel groups in Washington will further contribute to the destabilisation of Ethiopia, which has been facing an insurgency by Tigray rebels, Ambassador to the United States Fitsum Arega told Sputnik.
“What they signed is to continue the destabilisation by the TPLF. So it’s just a continuation of the destabilisation, and it has no meaning at all,” Arega said.
